Alyssa Sutherland

Alyssa Sutherland is at present the most important Australian fashion model. She comes from the same town as myself, Brisbane, and in a TV interview said she was discovered in a shopping centre ("Garden City" to be precise). For the first few years of her career she did mainly local jobs, but in 2001 started cropping up in the catwalk shows of international designers. She was particularly popular in Milan, but I also saw her in footage of some New York SS02 shows. She disappeared for a while, but resurfaced in Milan for the 2003/04 aw shows and a wacky editorial in US Elle. I recently spotted her looking most splendid in a Bvlgari ad, and in some 2004 ss New York shows (Rosa Cha, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tracey Reece...)

Alyssa is excellent model material - a lean, towering, finely formed body capped off by a beautiful yet slightly odd face.

 

Teresa Lourenco

Stats: 84/58/86  Height: 180cm   DOB: ~ 1981

I initially thought Teresa was Spanish but actually she hails from the West Indies. Another mistake was in thinking of of her as a new model, but it appears she has been modeling since at least 1998. She had a terrible, boyish hairstyle in some of the earlier pictures of her, but now looks much more "womanly" - check out her recent appearances in editorials for US and UK Elle if you don't believe me. Her breasts also look larger now -implants? She hasn't been in many shows over the last few years, but has recently been featured in Victoria's Secret catalogues.
